About the Team

The Finance Systems team drives core processes like General Ledger close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset reporting, and journal management. At the heart of the team, the Finance Systems Accountant leads the optimisation and automation of finance applications and data flows

About the Role

The Finance Systems Accountant is instrumental in maintaining and enhancing SAP-S4 HANA based platforms—BW, AFO, BPC, FIORI, SAC, RPA, and Blackline—ensuring integrity of financial data flows and reporting architecture. Acting as the primary systems contact for the Finance Strategy and Legal team, this role leads early-stage initiatives and drives the strategic evolution of the finance systems roadmap

With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of the Finance Systems Team.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

Finance Systems

• Improve automation and data accuracy across financial processes
• Maintain documentation and process flow diagrams
• Act as primary liaison with Digital for system support (SAP S4 HANA, AFO, SAC, FIORI, Blackline, Concur)
• Oversee and troubleshoot journal postings from business and finance teams

Projects & Initiatives

• Collaborate with internal service providers and external vendors on systems improvements

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field (essential)
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards certification
• Proven experience in systems accounting or financial systems analysis
• Familiarity with SAP ECC or S/4 HANA (highly regarded)
• Skilled in automation tools (RPA, Power Query, SQL) and AI-aware
• Solid understanding of financial close processes
• Analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Confident communicator across both technical and finance team
