Role Purpose

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our People & Culture team. This role partners with the business to uphold our values, foster a safe and positive workplace culture, ensure compliance, and support the achievement of operational goals.
Success in this role requires accurate and concise verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
About the Role:
- The key responsibilities of a HRBP at Yarra Trams will include:
- Promoting a positive and safe culture aligned with organisational goals and objectives
- Coaching and guiding leaders on a range of people related matters
- Drafting and reviewing employment related documentation
- Undertaking workplace investigations and supporting disciplinary processes
- Advising on and supporting the delivery of organisational change initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
- Supporting the delivery of all employee life cycle activities including on boarding, off boarding, performance appraisals, remuneration reviews, reward and recognition.
About You:
This role will suit an experienced HR / IR professional who has a demonstrated ability to:
- Work both autonomously and in a team environment
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Build trust and rapport and influence decision making
- Effectively convey information in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing
- Identify and resolve conflict
- Understand and apply Australian employment law and industrial instruments
- Effectively engage with external stakeholders, including unions
- Prior experience working in a fast-pace, multi-disciplined and/or multi-site environment is preferred, but not essential.
