Lead one of Melbourne’s most iconic craft beer venues and play a key role in shaping unforgettable guest experiences. You’ll manage a large, fast-paced venue, drive business growth, elevate the functions arm and bring the Mountain Goat spirit to life — all while building a passionate, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a dynamic front-of-house team with a strong hospitality focus
• Manage all aspects of daily operations, including service, compliance and safety
• Drive function sales and growth, working closely with marketing and events team
• Help coordinate brewery tours and build strong ties with the brewers
• Oversee local marketing, social media and corporate engagement to grow the venue
• Collaborate in fortnightly WIPs with marketing to review performance and plan rollouts
  
  

About You

• Experienced and stable venue manager, confident in running a large, high-volume venue
• Strong hospitality background with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
• Skilled people leader with excellent team coaching and development abilities
• Ambitious, energetic and commercially savvy with a drive to grow the business
• Familiar with craft beer culture and excited to work alongside brewers
• Comfortable managing functions, events and venue marketing initiatives
  
  

You bring proven hospitality experience, with a deep understanding of what it takes to create exceptional guest moments, manage diverse teams and deliver seamless service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your background gives you the confidence to lead from the floor, solve problems on the fly and inspire your team to consistently raise the bar.

Please note, due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this role will involve evening, late-night and weekend shifts.

Mountain Goat started out back in 1997 when two mates decided they wanted better tasting beers and were determined to do something about it. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength, becoming an industry leader in the craft beer world winning multiple awards and accolades.

We continue to support the same things we always have – our local community, good causes, live and local music all the while producing tasty beers. A lot has changed in the world over the past three decades, but that pioneering spirit has never left us.
