The role

We're looking for an experienced Lawyer/Associate to join our Construction and Infrastructure team located in Sydney reporting into Phillip Coady in a role that includes a combination of front and back end work. In this role, you will be an integral part of a close knit, interactive and high achieving team, working with an industry leaders and experienced practitioners. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on the negotiation and documentation of major construction and infrastructure projects in Australia for a blue-chip client base. The team has strong transactional experience in sectors including government, PPP, rail, water, mining, telecommunications and renewables.

The position is dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative. It is essential that the successful applicant can demonstrate a high quality proven track record of construction/infrastructure matters, and has a strong commercial acumen.
Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate will be looking for interesting, challenging work with significant client contact and responsibility. To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes:
  • Have at least 1-4 years PAE working in a well-regarded law firm with a strong interest in working in a construction and infrastructure
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Practical and client focused problem solving and research skills
  • Sound technical legal ability and a genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector
  • A professional, commercially-astute and proactive approach to matter management
  • Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
  • Conscientious and client-focused, and possess strong interpersonal skills
