Permanent Part-Time (20 hours per week).
Classification: Staff Specialist Level 1 (Level election is optional)
Remuneration: $262,376 - $323,777 p.a. dependent on years of experience, plus superannuation, salary packaging.

About the Role:
The Staff Specialist works with the surgical multidisciplinary team in providing excellent patient care within Calvary Mater Newcastle to maximise health outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities:
Support and participate in research activities and quality management initiatives.
Supervise and teach rotational provisional fellows, registrars and JMOs in the department.
Work in collaboration with the Director of Anaesthesia to improve service delivery and patient management.
Provide clinical services for surgical patients requiring advanced pain management and other hospital patients who require the assistance of a consultant anaesthetist.

Fellowship of the Australia & New Zealand College of Anaesthetist
Demonstrated capacity in efficient and effective patient management.
Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.
Adaptability in use of medical IT applications e.g. electronic medical records & prescribing.
Commitment to undergraduate and post graduate teaching in medicine, nursing and allied health.
A Primary Medical Degree registrable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
