Your New Role And Responsibilities

We are looking for a Security Manager to provide hands-on technical leadership for the delivery of cyber security services within a small yet complex ICT environment. The role involves direct management of a small team of Security Engineers, responsible for the day-to-day operation, configuration, and optimisation of core security platforms and services.

This position focuses on delivering compliant, measurable, and auditable security outcomes across endpoint protection, vulnerability management, application control, mobile device security, privileged access, cloud access security, and incident response coordination. You will maintain control over the operational state of all in-scope technologies, drive remediation workflows, and uphold alignment with applicable security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

The role requires close collaboration with customer stakeholders, service delivery teams, and other providers to support ongoing compliance, security maturity uplift, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will maintain the core set of security documentation, contribute to audit readiness, and act as the primary escalation point for technical security issues across the supported environment.

More Specifically, It Will Include The Following

  • Operate and maintain endpoint protection policies and agent health across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint; manage Intune compliance policies, configuration baselines, and update distributions for both mobile and fixed endpoints.
  • Schedule and manage vulnerability scans using Tenable Nessus, prioritise remediation activities, and track outcomes; administer application control policies via Airlock Digital, including deployment, exception handling, and rule set tuning.
  • Enforce passkey-based multi-factor authentication using Microsoft Authenticator to support secure access to sensitive systems; operate and configure Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps as the CASB platform, applying data loss prevention (DLP) and anomaly detection policies.
  • Manage privileged account workflows and platform health in Delinea Secret Server, including password rotation, access reviews, and agent checks; track and update security incident records in Ivanti Neurons, coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date security plans, incident response procedures, personnel security reports, and audit artefacts; support exception-based reporting, monthly status reports, and operational meetings through accurate technical documentation and performance data.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of Endpoint Security, Vulnerability Scanning and Management, Intune, and Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms, providing technical support and strategic oversight across accounts.
  • Strong understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and the Essential Eight Maturity Model, ensuring alignment with Australian Government security compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to engage with customers and support incident response activities through IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
  • Experienced in managing key security artefacts, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Risk Management Plans (SRMPs), and PSPF compliance tracking.
  • Expertise in application control, cloud access security, endpoint compliance, and vulnerability remediation to uphold a strong security posture.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold or be able to obtain an NV1 level security clearance.
