Network Engineer, Trilogy (Remote) - $100,000/year USD

Trilogy

Contract type: Full time
Remote
Are you a DevOps engineer who sees beyond the ordinary? Imagine not just maintaining systems, but transforming them into paragons of efficiency and reliability. If you're someone who finds joy in untangling legacy infrastructure and crafting a harmonious, automated ecosystem, then we have the perfect opportunity for you. We seek a DevOps and AWS infrastructure virtuoso who excels in high-pressure environments, ensuring that downtime is virtually nonexistent. You'll be tasked with streamlining a variety of acquired products, each with its own unique challenges, into a cohesive, scalable AWS infrastructure, all while implementing monitoring and automation to minimize incidents.

While most roles focus on maintaining a single stack, we're looking for someone to optimize multiple stacks without disruption. We strategically consolidate databases to maximize cost efficiency and management across our portfolio. This is not a position for someone who wants to merely maintain the status quo; it's for someone who sees a fragmented environment and envisions a better one.

You'll be responsible for everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-driven automation, performance tuning, database migration, and cost optimization. Your role includes diagnosing issues, executing seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating significant portions of your tasks using AI/ML workflows. You'll have the autonomy to make infrastructure decisions without waiting for approvals from those unfamiliar with the technical intricacies.

If you're an independent thinker who thrives on solving complex challenges and making systems run seamlessly, this job is your ideal playground. However, if you need constant guidance, feel overwhelmed by multiple tech stacks, or prefer clean-slate projects over organizing chaos, this might not be the right fit. If you're prepared to take charge of a high-impact infrastructure role with the potential to build, optimize, and automate on a grand scale, we invite you to apply!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Orchestrating complex infrastructure transformations, including migrations from legacy setups to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift transitions
  • Crafting and deploying comprehensive monitoring strategies and developing automations for monitoring, software deployments, and operational workflows
  • Overseeing system monitoring, executing system backups, managing incident responses, performing database migrations and configurations, and optimizing costs

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Being bogged down by Jira and endless status meetings - we appreciate individuals who deliver solutions, not just manage problems
  • Perpetually maintaining outdated systems - you'll be empowered to implement meaningful enhancements
  • Being hindered by bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have the power to make immediate fixes to resolve issues
  • Being confined to narrow technical specializations - this role demands both broad and deep expertise
  • Struggling for budget to enact essential improvements - we recognize the significance of infrastructure investment

Network Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Basic Requirements

  • Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (as this is our primary platform - experience with other clouds is insufficient)
  • Proficient programming skills in Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tools
  • Experience in managing and migrating production databases across various engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Advanced proficiency in Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Expertise in Linux systems administration
