Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA’s Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah.
BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Serviceperson to join our dynamic maintenance team at Goonyella. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Refuelling and servicing a wide range of heavy mining equipment and light vehicles.
- Performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any faults or issues.
- Conducting oil changes, fluid top-ups, and filter replacements as required.
- Maintaining accurate service records and completing job cards and checklists.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with site safety standards and procedures.
- Operating service trucks and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assisting tradespeople and other team members with general maintenance tasks.
- Participating in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing training.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including service bays and vehicles.
- Previous experience in a similar service or maintenance role within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Sound knowledge of heavy equipment servicing and safe work practices.
- A current HR (Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence and the ability to operate service trucks.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Physically fit and able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work a rostered shift pattern and adapt to site requirements.
- Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain).
