Who We Are
NORSTA Maritime is the Regional Maintenance Provider North-East (RMP-NE), known for its dynamic and collaborative approach in providing exceptional maritime sustainment to the Department of Defence. NORSTA delivers technical expertise and project management capabilities in fleet maintenance to support the operational efficiency of the Royal Australian Navy fleet.
NOTE: As a condition of this role, you must be an Australian citizen and be able to obtain (and hold) Baseline Defence security clearances. A National Police Check will be required.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking an opportunity in the dynamic world of maritime and Defence-subcontracting.
This is a permanent, full-time role.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will ensure accurate and efficient recording of financial information in NORSTA’s accounting system to assist in the preparation of financial statements and associated reporting.
Tasks Include (but Are Not Limited To)
With a proven track record (at least five years) in financial management, preferably within a commercial environment, you have a strong eye for detail and great problem-solving skills, including an aptitude for numbers, logic and mathematics.

- General Ledger, Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations
- BAS return
- Payroll processing
- Superannuation
- Accounts Receivable and Payable functions
- Preparation of month-end financial accounts
- Handling of external audit.

- Preparation and lodgement of:
- BAS return
- Payroll Tax
- Superannuation
- Payroll processing
- Handling of external audit
- Preparation of month end financial accounts
You are able to communicate respectfully and work collaboratively across an organisation to achieve outcomes.
Your Qualifications May Include
- Minimum: Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Business/Business Administration
- Desirable: CPA or CA membership
- Extensive administration and support services background
- High proficiency in accounting systems. SAP-B1 is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent logic and numeracy skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
