Your New Role
In this permanent role, reporting to Manager - Bereavements Centre, you will be primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of death claims through to payment stage. You will support and assist families and loved ones of deceased members while displaying compassion and empathy at all stages of the process.
In addition, you will represent the Insurance Claims team as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will liaise on death claims matters and play a key role in the Bereavement Centre by resolving cases in an efficient and effective manner while meeting the service deliverables.
Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:
- Manage death claim distribution through case management to payment.
- Be a first point of contact for claimants ensuring they have all the factual; information and are well informed of the claim process and progress, managing their claim with empathy, professionalism and in a timely manner.
- Maintain queues under case management ensuring all outstanding work items are acted on within service standards.
- Identify any insurance proceeds a member may be able to claim and manage the relationship with the insurer and other third parties to ensure successful assessment of any relevant insurance claim.
What You'll Need
- Empathy when speaking to Claimants on the phone.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex and technical outcomes in simple language.
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in performance
- Advanced use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Passionate about assisting Claimant in their time of need.
- Relevant experience in a similar role (with an administrator or in superannuation insurance).
- Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks according to priority.
- Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively without supervision and to set own work plan to meet deadlines.
