DCM Services is a market leading provider of mechanical services, delivering high-quality design, construction, and maintenance solutions across a diverse range of technical projects. Operating since 2012, DCM is a Tier 1 Design & Construct mechanical services business with in house design, engineering, and revit modelling teams that work seamlessly with their construction division.


They have extensive experience across key sectors including healthcare, defence, education, commercial offices, pharmaceuticals, refrigeration, retail, central plant refurbishments and Greenstar/NABERS rated buildings.


The Opportunity


Driven by strong internal growth and a robust pipeline of upcoming projects, we are seeking a General Manager – Construction to support the Managing Director and lead their construction operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading a team of experienced professionals, overseeing end to end project delivery, ensuring alignment across departments, and driving successful outcomes on time, within budget and to scope.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes, regulations, and project management best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to the MD in day to day business operation
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the construction team
  • Ensure effective allocation and utilisation of resources across projects
  • Champion continuous improvement through process development and innovation
  • Oversee project planning and ensure accountability for execution
  • Support project managers in driving timelines, procurement, and delivery
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to best practices
  • Act as the escalation point for high level client issues, supporting the commercial and project teams
  • Business Development & Strategic Planning
  • Foster collaboration between construction and other internal departments
  • Drive alignment with company goals and ensure operational excellence


About You

  • Demonstrated experience leading high-performing, multidisciplinary construction teams
  • Proven ability to manage projects ($5M+) from concept to completion
  • Strong leadership style that is hands on, humble, and supportive
  • Experience in conflict resolution with internal teams and clients
  • Solid understanding of project financials and previous exposure to P&L management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Qualifications in Business, Management, or a related field
  • Mechanical services experience is advantageous but not essential
