Cost Planning & Forecasting Consultant – Defence Finance | NV1 Clearance Required

Location: Williamtown, NSW

Salary: $140,000 – $155,000 package

Clearance: NV1 Clearance is essential

We are currently seeking a Level 3 Consultant to join a versatile Defence Finance team based in Williamtown, NSW.

This role requires flexibility, initiative, and a strong foundation in cost planning, estimation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Working under limited direction, you will deliver moderately complex financial tasks within an integrated workforce. Key duties include:

• Providing expert advice on cost model requirements across the Capability Life Cycle (CLC)
• Developing, maintaining, and refining consistent, transparent, and repeatable cost estimates
• Educating and supporting stakeholders on cost planning and forecasting – both In-Year and Program-focused
• Leading data input and updates in Corporate Cost Planning and Estimation tools
• Conducting peer reviews of estimations and artefacts
• Mentoring and guiding new staff in tools, techniques, and methodologies
• Collaborating across teams to ensure robust, evidence-based cost estimations aligned with project documentation
• Supporting analysis of alternatives, tender evaluations, and contract change proposals

Required Skills & Experience

• Active Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• 3-5 years of experience in statistics and statistical analysis
• Demonstrated experience working in complex finance environments with multiple stakeholders
