About the role
Our new Information Governance Manager will be responsible for leading and enhancing the information governance program at V/Line. The aim of the information governance program is to support V/Line’s strategic priority of our organisational capability and systems, ensuring compliance with the Public Records Act 1973 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
The information governance program involves aspects such as cultural change, the development of people capabilities, the introduction of comprehensive management processes, a robust information architecture and the deployment of a compliant Electronic Document & Records Management System (EDRMS).
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide information governance frameworks, policies and strategies.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Public Records Act 1973 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014).
Established leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information governance concepts, as well as influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Proven experience driving organisational change and embedding a culture of compliance, privacy, and data stewardship. (including managing compliance audits and responding to regulatory requirements).
Strong understanding of risk management principles related to information governance, data privacy and records management.
Must possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Management, Information Technology, Business or related fields.
Eligibility for membership of the Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA), Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or equivalent professional organisation. – Highly desirable
Industry recognised certifications such as Certified Information Professional (CIP), Data Governance Professional, or Information Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM). – Highly desirable
Remuneration for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023).
