Our Sydney CBD based firm has an opportunity for an individual to gain Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement in the areas of litigation and various areas of commercial, corporate, insolvency, building and construction, intellectual property and criminal law.
The Position
This position is available for a person who is either in their final year of university or are very close to graduating or have recently graduated and looking to partake in PLT training.
You will gain first-hand experience in a professional environment, working alongside experienced solicitors.

- Prepare applications, affidavits, statements and other types of court documents;
- Conducting legal research;
- Case analysis;
- Liaising with counsel and attending court hearings;
- Handling legal documentation, file administration and tracking;
- Work with solicitors to liaise with clients and other professionals;
- Inspecting subpoena material at Court and summarising subpoena material
- Organising client files;
- Drafting of correspondence and preliminary pleadings;
- Proofing Court Documents; and
- Administration.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Recently completed or in final year of law degree;
- Available for a minimum of 3 days a week;
- A genuine interest in commercial, corporate, insolvency, building and construction, intellectual property and criminal law;
- A proactive attitude and strong attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with sound attention to detail;
- Outstanding time management skills;
- Ability to work well within a team and autonomously;
- Be comfortable liaising and building relationships with clients; and
- Good work ethics.
