About The Role

The City of Sydney is undergoing a significant transformational change within Property Services, and we’re seeking skilled and motivated property management professionals to join our Infrastructure Sustainability team.

The City manages a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots. Our portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the realisation of our Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 vision by driving high-performance asset management.

The Sustainability Operations Coordinator’s primary purpose is to effectively manage the operational waste contract and assist in the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives and projects across the City’s asset portfolio.

Key Accountabilities Include

drive initiatives that improve the sustainability performance of the property portfolio towards meeting agreed organisational environmental targets and the Property Strategy deliveryensure key stakeholders are informed and engaged in relation to sustainability management and monitoring as requireddevelop/foster internal/external relationships and participate in forums that are relevant to improving future sustainability performance of the property portfolioactively seek out opportunities for innovation in sustainability to improve the overall performance of the property portfoliocontract Management of operational waste contract, including budget management, contractor performance management, compliance with terms, coordination of day to day waste operations,maintenance of accurate waste records and adherence to City operational waste targets.

We’re Looking For Someone With

tertiary qualifications at a degree level in a relevant field such as Project Management, Contract Management, Sustainability or Environmental Science or equivalent relevant industry experience includingcontract Administration (with demonstrated Project Management capabilities)exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, negotiation skills and communication skillsknowledge of sustainability related issues and sustainability related projects.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
