We also produce a wide range of sustainable and recycled construction materials for civil construction and infrastructure projects The National Category Manager – Opex & Logistics role: Working with a motivated procurement team at our Clarence Street CBD office, you will be responsible for developing and implementing national sourcing and contract management strategies for high spend/high risk opex categories and promoting best practice sourcing of logistics services across the Australian business. This includes tasks such as consolidating demand across all regions, establishing and tracking KPIs, conducting market research, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies Engage regularly with your key stakeholders who include the National Procurement Manager, Australian Procurement team, Australian Operations, and external suppliers, whilst providing all with a high level of service Using alternate sourcing strategies to find the best solutions for our business. This includes exploring Best Cost Country Sourcing opportunities through Heidelberg Materials’ Global and Asia-Pacific Procurement functions What you need to be successful:

- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, capable of dealing with all levels of the organisation.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Procurement, ideally with exposure at a Category Manager level
- Opex and/or logistics experience will be highly regarded
- Ideally you will have worked in the construction materials, industrial or manufacturing space
- Proven negotiation skills, especially in sourcing equipment and spares.
- Amazing communication skills - both written and verbal. In other words, you can get along well with people and can write a coherent email that your audience will understand.
- Enjoy a laugh at work but still get the job done.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities. Each stakeholder believes their needs are the most critical, you know how to manage them to let them know that they really are number 1 for you.
- You know how to build strong rapport with your stakeholders. Some of which will be done remotely, so your video conferencing skills will be on point.
- Display exemplary customer service and relationship building skills to both internal and external stakeholders and strong influencing, consulting, and advisory skills.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, market benchmarking, and decision-making.
- High level of accountability, resilience, autonomy, and ability to lead initiatives.
