About The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive and dedicated Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to provide high-quality clinical care and support within our busy, fast-paced medical imaging practice. This role offers the chance to work closely with Radiologists, technical and non-technical staff in a patient and support focussed environment.

You will provide RMO support at a range of Benson Radiology clinic locations, including Blackwood, Golden Grove and Glenelg.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a recent Bachelor of Medicine Graduate to;

  • get private sector experience and / or
  • build their knowledge and experience in the Radiology sector and / or
  • work in a family like atmosphere for one of Australia’s largest medical imaging providers.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Insertion of intravenous cannulas
  • Supervision of intravenous cannulations by medical imaging / nursing employees
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred clinical care in a medical imaging environment
  • Provide medical treatment and support during emergencies, including contrast reactions, adverse events, and unanticipated clinical situations.
  • Collaborate closely with Radiologists, medical imaging staff, and nursing teams to deliver safe, coordinated, and optimal patient care
  • Monitor and review patient progress during and after procedures, referring patients for additional care where needed
  • Document all clinical care, procedures, and patient communications accurately within patient records in line with clinic procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing respectful, culturally sensitive care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and accreditation activities, contributing to continuous improvement and best practice standards

About You

You are a qualified, compassionate medical practitioner with:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine plus one year internship
  • Registration with Medical Board of Australia
  • Up to date Basic Life Support training (certificate), including anaphylaxis management Strong clinical judgement and procedural skills, particularly in IV cannulation and emergency response. (desirable)
  • Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Current driver’s license (for travel between sites, if applicable)
  • Any mandatory health checks or immunisations required for working in clinical environments (if applicable at Benson Radiology)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities across all patient and staff interactions
  • A professional, collaborative approach and commitment to high clinical standards
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and common law obligations
  • Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs
  • Availability to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week, with flexibility to meet rostering needs, including occasional weekends by agreement.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and safe, ethical practice.
