About The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a high-profile federal reform initiative focused on improving regulatory capability and service delivery. In this role, you’ll work closely with delivery teams, stakeholders, and technical specialists to analyse, design, and implement systems that are secure, scalable and fit-for-purpose.
This is a 12-month contract with the option to extend up to a further 24 months. The role is based in Canberra, with flexible hybrid arrangements (2-3 days per week in-office). Applicants must be Australian Citizens and able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.

About The Role

In this role, you’ll work closely with delivery teams, stakeholders, and technical specialists to analyse, design, and implement systems that are secure, scalable and fit-for-purpose.

Role And Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across the project lifecycle, including pre-discovery, discovery, design, and delivery
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather detailed requirements and understand root causes
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories for developers, testers, and DevOps teams
- Analyse data flows, APIs, and system interfaces to inform solution and integration design
- Maintain documentation including process maps, data models, wireframes, and interface specifications
- Work closely with architects and delivery teams to ensure requirements traceability and quality outcomes
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, supporting backlog management, estimation, and refinement
- Foster collaboration and positive engagement across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst
- Strong experience facilitating open-ended user engagements to gather and document complex requirements
- Ability to derive and articulate technical solutions that align with user outcomes
- Proven success working both autonomously and within multidisciplinary Agile teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration, API documentation, and data modelling
- Experience in Agile project environments, including discovery and design phases
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
- Support a nationally significant reform initiative in the public sector
- Work with modern delivery methodologies and cross-functional teams
