We’re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with specialist expertise in earthing and bonding to join our KBR Electrical Engineering & Consulting Team based in either Sydney or Melbourne. You’ll be a key technical leader, driving the design and delivery of electrical systems across our six market sectors: Transport, Energy, Resources, Water, Defence & Buildings and Sustainable Solutions. This is a high-impact role that supports the safety, quality, and performance of critical infrastructure projects across the nation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of electrical earthing and bonding system designs across infrastructure projects.
  • Provide expert advice on installation, maintenance, and design best practices.
  • Perform calculations and site testing (e.g., fall of potential, current injection, soil resistivity).
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation and make system improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to deliver project outcomes.
  • Manage design budgets, schedules, and resourcing to meet project timelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • CPEng accreditation (or eligible to apply).
  • MTM Designer/Checker competency highly regarded.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the design and engineering of earthing and bonding systems.
  • Proficient in CDEGS and electrical design software.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure sector standards and electrical safety principles.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid project management and prioritisation capabilities.
