Position Purpose
The Data Analyst & Liaison plays a critical role in the design, implementation, analysis, and presentation of the Perspectives suite of surveys. The position ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed insights to Independent school leaders and internal stakeholders.
This role requires exceptional analytical skills, precision and proficiency in data analytics tools, including supporting schools through the full survey lifecycle and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through actionable research and data storytelling.
Key Accountabilities
Operational Accountabilities
Survey Design and Development
- Build and configure surveys using the Qualtrics platform, incorporating custom items where required.
- Contribute to survey refinement, ensuring alignment with best practices in survey methodology and school needs.
Survey Implementation and Data Collection
- Manage the end-to-end deployment of surveys, monitoring response rates and resolving technical issues.
- Track engagement metrics and maintain oversight of live survey progress.
Data Cleaning, Validation, and Analysis
- Clean, validate, and prepare raw data to ensure integrity and usability.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to extract meaningful insights, including bespoke requests from schools.
- Generate benchmark data and comparative analyses for reporting purposes.
- Maintain robust data management processes, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Copilot.
Data Visualisation and Reporting
- Develop and present survey findings through interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations.
- Build and deliver tailored Data Interpretation Sessions to school leadership teams.
- Translate complex data into accessible visual formats and narratives for multiple audiences.
Data Analytics and Internal Support
- Data & analytics support direct to internal stakeholders, in various formats, such as PowerPoint presentations, data visualisations, bespoke datasets with accompanying commentary where required.
Stakeholder Communication and Support
- Serve as a primary liaison for school personnel throughout the survey period.
- Provide clear communication, responsive support, and expertise to enhance the user experience.
- Address inquiries and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and innovation in survey methodologies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in research and analytics.
- Contribute to organisational knowledge and internal capability through documentation and collaboration.
- Support the development of internal materials including presentations, workshops, articles, and social media content.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge/Skills
Qualifications
- Relevant Tertiary education qualifications.
What Experience are we looking for?
- Demonstrated experience in survey design, administration, and analysis using the Qualtrics platform.
- Proven ability to clean, process, and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data sets.
- Advanced user and experience building reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar.
- Experience liaising with stakeholders to support the delivery of data products and services.
- Familiarity with benchmarking, comparative analysis, and custom report generation.
- Experience facilitating data interpretation or consultation sessions with non-technical audiences.
- Experience applying data-driven insights in education, research, or not-for-profit contexts is highly desirable.
What Knowledge/Skills are we looking for?
- Strong understanding of survey methodology, data validation techniques, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Qualtrics dashboards).
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build rapport and provide clear guidance to school leaders.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in technical survey contexts.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines concurrently.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.
- Knowledge of emerging tools and technologies in the field of data analytics, survey design, and education research.
Essential
- Capacity to travel across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW, which may involves being away overnight (occasional).
Desirable
- Understanding of the NSW independent school sector and the role of AISNSW as a peak body and member-based service organisation.
- A current NSW Driver’s Licence.
