Job Description
DP World Brisbane is seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent responsible for the daily execution of the terminal operations plan in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner. The role ensures operations meet or exceed customer and business expectations while adhering to company policies and procedures. The role requires a detailed understanding of Container Terminal Operations, Microster Rostering Systems, Navis N4 Superuser skills and experience with Quay Crane and Vessel Planning processes. The role directly leads a large Stevedoring workforce.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Operations Supervisors and staff performance, including rosters, leave, and development plans.
- Provide daily direction and coaching to ensure smooth and efficient terminal operations.
- Ensure full compliance with WHS&E requirements and lead a strong safety culture.
- Address employee issues such as attendance, disciplinary matters, and performance in collaboration with HR and management.
- Oversee effective labour rostering and allocation to meet operational and cost-efficiency targets.
- Coordinate vessel operations and special cargo handling to maximize crane productivity and operational output.
- Work closely with customer service and planning teams to meet customer satisfaction and service standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage resources within budget and policy guidelines.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, logistics or relevant fields, or equivalent operational experience, are highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in terminal or operations roles within transport, maritime, or stevedoring industries.
- Proven leadership and management experience in container or bulk port environments.
- Strong track record in managing teams of shift workers in a high-demand operational setting.
- Experience handling industrial relations in unionised environments.
- Sound knowledge of cargo handling procedures and terminal yard and vessel operations.
- High computer literacy, including use of terminal, vessel, and yard planning systems.
- Skilled in team leadership, conflict resolution, communication, time management, and driving operational improvement
