About The Role

The key responsibility of the Local Government Lead – Regional role is to deliver the Thriving Tennis Communities (TTC) framework at a council level, via analysis and interpretation of data, to tell the story of tennis and to ensure the health and sustainability of tennis across all LGA’s of regional Victoria. This includes upgrades to current clubs / venues and provision of future clubs / venues via network planning. A project pipeline for regional Victoria should be top of mind in all discussions and understanding the needs for regional Victoria.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with councils and key tennis networks by developing positive relationships within the region to influence, adapt and drive change.
  • Identify current and future trends for tennis within and across councils and work with the Regional Tennis Manager - Country to ensure this is considered in any region-wide planning.
  • Collaborate with the relevant staff managing the relationship with clubs and venues to maximise all potential funding, facility improvement, and program support opportunities.
  • Conduct regular reviews and, if required, realignment of plans, with councils to ensure the progress of TTC objectives in the region.
  • Work with councils in the establishment of new clubs at new venues and appropriate network planning.


About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Sports Management Degree (desirable), or demonstrated experience relative to the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including councils and the broader tennis community.
  • Strong report writing, data analysis and presentation skills are essential.
  • High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management and confidence in adopting diverse digital platforms.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis VIC.
