Purpose of role:
We are excited to offer the role of a Security Architect
This role reports to an IT Director of Enterprise Services and Architecture. The Security Architect designs solutions that align with Blackmores’ business goals, technology strategies, and security best practices. They ensure security across applications, cloud platforms, and digital initiatives, working closely with the Architecture team and the Head of Cyber Governance and Operations.
The role involves guiding projects, developing security architecture and roadmap, and maintaining security controls. They also provide architecture leadership, ensuring alignment with security strategies and standards, while building and maintaining a Security Reference Architecture framework.
This role is based in Sydney with workplace flexibility of working at least 3 days in office per week from Surry Hills and 2 days from home.
What will you do?
- Designing and governing security solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), ensuring scalability, resilience, and compliance with industry standards.
- Developing and maintaining security reference architectures, standards, and frameworks to support consistent and effective implementation of security controls.
- Leading the creation of security architecture artifacts and promoting their adoption across project and operational teams.
- Providing strategic input into technology investments and roadmaps to maximise security outcomes and return on investment.
- Establishing and supporting architectural governance processes to ensure alignment with enterprise security strategy and regulatory obligations.
- Collaborating with IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to embed security into solution design, delivery, and operations, while fostering a culture of security awareness and innovation.
Who are you?
- At least 15 years and more in technology, with over 5 years dedicated to cybersecurity leadership and strategy.
- Proven Solutions Architecture with more than 3 years of experience designing secure, scalable enterprise solutions.
- Security Operations expert with hands-on experience in SIEM, SOAR, and event log management.
- Microsoft Security Specialist, proficient in Defender, DLP, and the broader Microsoft infrastructure ecosystem.
- Cloud Security Architect with deep knowledge across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
- Data Protection Leader, skilled in DLP, encryption, tokenization, RBAC, and data classification.
- Framework-driven professional, experienced in TOGAF, SABSA, NIST, ISO27001, OWASP, and ITIL.
- Compliance-savvy, with strong knowledge of Australian regulatory standards including the Privacy Act and PCI DSS.
