Full Time Veterinary Receptionist - Specialist Referral Practice
Animal Eye Care is the pre-eminent Veterinary Ophthalmology Clinic in Australia and continues to grow. We are seeking a receptionist to join our existing veterinary and nursing team on a permanent basis. Fulltime work of 38 hours Monday to Friday is offered. Part time work will be considered for the right candidate. Weekend work is not required for this role.
Animal Eye Care was the first stand-alone veterinary referral practice in Australia and has set the standard for providing the highest level of patient care and veterinary ophthalmology for nearly 30 years. We are focussed on the care and wellbeing of the patient and their carers. We do not sell “stuff” and aim to provide the best and most compassionate medical and surgical care.

Your Responsibilities Include
- Being the friendly face and voice of the clinic
- Managing client calls and inquiries
- Greeting patients and their carers as they enter the clinic
- Scheduling appointments
- Taking payments and creating invoices for patient carers
- Helping patients and their carers to feel comfortable and reduce any stress – this may involve patting them (the hairy ones!) and offering treats (again – the hairy ones)
- Keeping the daily schedule up to date
- Assisting carers to process pet insurance claims
- As your experience grows and you learn more about ophthalmology you will be able to triage patients to ensure they get the appropriate care in a timely manner
- Lead by example
- Delegate tasks
- Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills
- Flexible team member that gets along with all personalities
- Mature and responsible
- Computer literate and flexible
- Ability to keep calm and work efficiently in a very fast paced clinic
- Likes animals!
