About The Opportunity

Due to business growth, Landcom have multiple Permanent opportunities available for Level 2 Senior Development Manager's (SDM) to join our Development Team.

The SDM is responsible for the management of strategy formulation, implementation and delivery planning for allocated projects including precinct specific concept planning, design and delivery projects. The role is responsible for the management of internal and external teams through the entire life cycle of a project by undertaking planning, community engagement, design approvals, construction, sales and market to ensure Statement of Corporate Intent targets are achieved.

Acting as 2IC to a Development Director, this role will be responsible for the delivery of complex programs that impact our community and transforms places. In collaboration with the project team, this role will manage the development of a new thriving, sustainable, walkable and connected communities in New South Wales, which may include allocation to project areas across; Glenfield, Metro Precincts, Edmondson Park, and North Wilton. You will have the opportunity to be part of a project from visioning to delivery, creating a great place to live, influencing best practise urban design, affordable housing, diverse housing and sustainability.

Please note that this role will be based out of our Parramatta Head Office and will require regular travel to other relevant work sites, as required.

Description:

Key Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Manage all phases of complex development projects to meet urban transformation goals.
  • Engage and manage consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across government and with external service providers.
  • Oversee the preparation of urban transformation strategies, plans, and applications to support planning activities.
  • Implement project management controls and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Apply financial performance measures to assess and determine project outcomes and recommend future strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting to ensure projects meet time, cost, and quality requirements and manage risks.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, and practices, including records management and compliance with legal and financial processes.


As this role is classified as Level 2, it includes the following additional capabilities and responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor project team members.
  • Develop and review team performance.
  • Manage and mitigate senior-level project risks.
  • Analyse financial impacts of sustainability practices.
  • Prepare complex project briefs and ensure compliance.


About You

To succeed in this role, the successful applicant will require relevant technical skills, and will also need to be proactive, bring a can-do attitude and demonstrate a keen interest in providing solutions to enable Landcom to achieve its objectives.

Ideally you will have the following experience:

  • Demonstrated development experience of 10+ years desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in property or related discipline
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in people management and ability to manage a team
  • Experience in creation and divestment of super-lots and standard retail lots
  • Experience or understanding in planning pathways
  • Experience in land subdivision delivery
