Test Lead - Utilities

Our client, a well-established player in the utilities sector, is looking for a Test Lead to join their growing technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to lead testing efforts and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, compliant, and complex programs of work within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of test strategies, plans, and manual test cases for complex systems
• Oversee test coverage across functional, integration, regression, and compliance testing
• Guide and mentor a team of testers, ensuring best practices and quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to manage defect identification and resolution
• Coordinate testing activities on systems critical to metering and market compliance
• Manage test data, environments, and timelines efficiently
• Provide regular reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics to support go/no-go decisions

Ideal Candidate will have experience in some or all of the following tools and platforms:

• Strong background in leading testing initiatives within the utilities or energy sector
• Expertise in manual testing, with some automation knowledge beneficial
• Experience with tools such as SAP-ISU, ITRON, HP ALM / HPLM
• Familiarity with platforms including WebMethods, UIQ, and MTS (Market Transaction Suite)
• General experience in metering system testing
• A solid understanding of utilities market compliance and regulatory requirements
