Solution Architect - Azure / Microsoft Stack

We’re supporting a large-scale transformation program within a prominent Queensland Government agency. This is a long-term opportunity for a proven Solution Architect with deep Azure experience and stakeholder engagement skills to help deliver a secure, mobile-accessible interface and modernised integration layer.

The Role

You’ll lead solution architecture outcomes across a complex, multi-phase program focused on uplifting critical information systems and enabling seamless data sharing across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Project Director, you’ll work closely with internal teams, vendors, and other technical stakeholders to shape and implement scalable Azure-based solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture planning, development, and implementation across a major transformation program.
• Define solution architecture patterns, standards, and practices aligned to enterprise architecture.
• Translate detailed business requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable technical designs.
• Produce architecture artefacts (e.g. solution overviews, data models, deployment diagrams, integration flows).
• Provide leadership and technical direction to internal and vendor teams.
• Ensure testing activities across UAT, performance, and penetration testing are aligned with architectural standards.
• Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to ensure successful cloud-based delivery.
  
  

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong background in Microsoft applications, Azure architecture, cloud migration, and .NET methodologies.
• Proven experience delivering architecture outcomes in complex enterprise or government environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills – confident working across technical and business teams.
• Experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks and ensuring alignment to strategic goals.
• Practical knowledge of Azure integration technologies and architecture governance.
• Understanding of secure application design and experience supporting formal testing activities
