Join Sugar Australia as a Financial Accountant at our Head Office in Yarraville, VIC. This permanent full-time opportunity is ideal for someone with strong financial accounting experience who's looking to take ownership of core finance processes and contribute to continuous improvement within a fast-paced, operationally complex FMCG environment. Whether you're currently in industry or coming from a professional services background, this is your chance to step into a broad and hands-on finance role that supports both compliance and business performance.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll work across financial reporting, month-end, audit, and budgeting processes, while maintaining strong internal controls and contributing to financial systems improvement. The sweet things you'll be involved in:
As our Financial Accountant, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and ensuring the smooth running of core finance processes. You'll work across month-end close, compliance, forecasting, and audit preparation, while helping to improve systems and reporting efficiency. Your attention to detail and drive for accuracy will support sound financial governance and enable informed decision-making across the business.
What you'll be doing:
We're seeking a results-driven individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow their career. You'll bring a strong technical skillset, a continuous improvement mindset, and a desire to add value to the business. You may be stepping out of professional services or already in industry and ready for a new challenge.
Sugar Australia is the nation's trusted partner in sugar and ingredient solutions enabling our customers to make great products for every home. We own and operate refineries, packing facilities, sugar silo terminals and warehouse distribution sites across the country.
It takes a great team to turn raw sugar into our many food grade products, and we work hard to make the highest-quality liquid sugars, icings, syrups, and crystals.
You will find our retail products at your local supermarket under the iconic CSR sugar brand. We also supply refined sugar products and many other ingredients to the industrial, foodservice and hospitality industries, supplying some of the largest brands in the country.
When you join Sugar Australia, you'll be part of a passionate and inclusive team that values growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We offer a supportive work environment where people and performance are genuinely valued. In return, you'll enjoy hybrid working, competitive pay, onsite parking, corporate discounts, recognition and development programs, health and wellbeing initiatives, regular social events, and access to our product library for those passionate bakers at heart.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
