Business Unit Overview

Our Legal & Corporate Services unit is a small, client-focused team with diverse expertise spanning corporate legal, people and performance, workplace health and safety, and risk and compliance. The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) function plays a critical role in protecting the health and wellbeing of our employees and supporting a safe and productive work environment. This is achieved by embedding proactive safety practices, maintaining compliance with legislative obligations, and continually improving WHS systems and processes. The WHS team partners with the business to ensure that health and safety is not only a legal requirement but also a foundational element that supports our operational performance and the achievement of strategic objectives.


Role Purpose

The WHS Administrator is responsible for supporting the development and engagement of a consistent and positive WHS culture across the organisation. The role will provide support to employees on WHS related issues. They will be a key resource in the implementation of an effective WHS Management System, playing an important role in ensuring compliance with WHS Regulations. This role plays a critical part in fostering a safe work environment, a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with WHS policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of the WHS Management System and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate WHS induction and training programs, including tracking completion rates and maintaining up-to-date materials.
  • Conduct and support workplace inspections, audits, and WHS Committee meetings including taking and distributing minutes.
  • Maintain accurate WHS records, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Support the delivery of WHS projects and health & wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assist in return-to-work programs, including identifying suitable duties and maintaining job dictionaries.
  • Perform general administrative and ad hoc support duties for the WHS Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of WHS and Risk Management systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in work health and safety management (Bachelor’s degree or Certificate IV).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to navigate conflict and negotiate outcomes.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
