About The Opportunity

Mining Skills Australia (MSA) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and creative RTO Instructional Designer to play a crucial support role in developing high-quality, engaging learning resources. Working alongside the RTO Manager this role is ideal for entry level candidates developing their experience in instructional design. This hands-on role involves quickly taking ownership of projects and working independently, while also collaborating with trainers and subject matter experts to deliver effective learning experiences. This role is perfect for someone with excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, a flair for digital design, and a passion for building impactful eLearning content.

What We Are Looking For

To be eligible for these positions you must hold:

  • Strong knowledge of ASQA standards and the VET regulatory framework
  • Basic experience using design tools (Rise, Canva, Articulate Storyline, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A keen eye for layout, formatting and consistency
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a supportive environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong written communication and editing skills
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm about experimenting with new digital tools to enhance learning engagement.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging learning resources and assessment tools that comply with ASQA and VET standards.
  • Use various instructional design methods and adult learning principles to ensure accessibility and learner engagement.
  • Design content for blended delivery modes, including face-to-face, online, and LMS platforms.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement through validation, feedback, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with trainers, assessors, and stakeholders to ensure materials meet learner needs and business objectives.
  • Build and update eLearning modules using a range of authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline
  • Format and maintain training resources to align with internal templates.
  • Edit and proofread a wide range of resources and documents.
  • Support content alignment and mapping to nationally recognised training packages.
  • Follow internal processes to ensure consistency, version control and regulatory compliance.
