What’s the opportunity?

The Lung Follow-Up Officer is responsible for assisting with the follow-up functions of the National Cancer Screening Register.

The Follow-Up Officer supports the safety net functions of the National Cancer Screening Register and encourages adoption of our digital channels.

This role aligns with Telstra Health’s strategic objectives of delighting our customers, keeping care safe and solving connected healthcare.

About The Role

  • Respond to escalated phone enquiries from participants, clinicians, radiology providers and laboratories about the lung cancer screening program protocols and direct them to program resources.
  • Liaise with radiology service providers about Low-dose CT results.
  • Liaise with participants, healthcare providers and specialists to obtain information about participants who require follow-up of lung abnormalities and to encourage adherence to the follow-up protocol.
  • Record clinical and additional related information about participants in accordance with Register protocols
  • Comply with established Register quality procedures and report any non-conformances to the Follow-up or Quality Manager.
  • Participate in user acceptance and business verification testing, which may occasionally occur outside of regular business hours.
  • Participate in clinical audits.
  • Provide assistance to the Lung Follow Up Team Leader as required with escalation of complex queries.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to drive program success.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives ensuring exceptional program delivery for all stakeholders.

About You

  • Experience working in the digital health or health sector
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical and pathological disease processes.
  • Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality in a healthcare setting.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Phone communication skills – professional and empathetic telephone manner, active listening and ability to clarify information
  • Digital Literacy - Comfortable using technology and can demonstrate an ability to learn digital platforms.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to quality and safety in healthcare
