About The Role

We are seeking a Support Officer Rural Products to join our close-knit Townsville team on a full-time, permanent basis. Joining a diverse team that has been providing livestock, finance & insurance and, rural products advice to the local community since 1988, you will enjoy the diversity of working in the branch assisting our clients and processing sales.

This is a dynamic role that will see you as the first point of contact for clients engaging with our branch where you will process in-store sales and client orders for stockfeed & supplements and fertilisers. Drawing on your understanding of the agricultural industry and administration skills, you will build and maintain strong relationships with clients – in-store, over the phone and while delivering orders.

Responsibilities

As a Support Officer Rural Products, you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and accurate product knowledge – in-store, on farm and over the phone
  • Accurately quote and process customer orders, ensuring timely delivery, invoicing and account settlement
  • Conduct daily banking, inventory purchasing, reconciling, receipting and reporting
  • Ensure the presentation of the Rural Products store is organised and tidy
  • Manage stock levels, ensure accurate inventory records and optimise product availability
  • Ensure effective stock control measures, including regular stock takes and rotation

About You

To succeed at Elders, you have:

  • Previous experience in a retail environment (Agricultural products preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience conducting administrative duties such as banking, processing and ordering
  • Strong understanding of agricultural seasonal fluctuations, products and market trends
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft suite and operating POS systems
  • Current MR license, forklift license, and Agsafe accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
  • Passion to provide a high level of customer with strong communication skills
