We are seeking an experienced Contracts Superintendent to lead procurement and contract management activities for a key operational mining site. This pivotal role ensures contracts and supplier engagements align with governance standards, operational priorities, and commercial objectives.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll oversee high-value tenders, manage supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement across procurement systems, processes, and compliance. You’ll also play a key role in guiding commercial decision-making and building team capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and contract processes – from scope development and tendering to negotiation, execution, and contract close-out.
  • Provide legal and commercial advice on procurement strategy, supplier agreements, and contract performance.
  • Draft, review and improve contract templates and bespoke agreements.
  • Manage contract risks, resolve disputes, and handle variations.
  • Provide guidance on property matters, including land access and easements.
  • Approve vendor applications and review supplier credit terms.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure service continuity and value-for-money.
  • Drive improvements in procurement governance, reporting, and compliance.

About You

  • Demonstrated leadership in procurement and contract management within operational or project environments.
  • Strong legal or commercial background with expertise in negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. Pulse) and experienced in data-driven reporting and compliance monitoring.
  • Skilled in managing large tenders and achieving cost-effective outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across operational, technical, and executive teams.
  • Comfortable balancing legal, commercial, and operational perspectives.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or equivalent.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and commercial acumen.
