About The Opportunity

The Service and Warranty Inspector is part of the Wilson Homes Service and Warranty team and reports to the State Service and Warranty Manager. The key focus of this role is to inspect homes at defect appointments against the relevant Building Act, Codes and Associated Regulations to ensure builds are meeting quality standards. More specifically, you will:

  • Inspecting homes at Defect appointments against the relevant Building Act, Codes and associated Regulations.
  • Preparing inspection reports and associated documentation in accordance with company policy;
  • Turning inspection reports into "ready for work" jobs as quickly and cost effectively as possible;
  • Arranging for the supply of goods and services where necessary, covering the defect liability period items and warranty requests;
  • Managing complaints and ensuring building compliance is achieved;
  • Continually improving company processes and liaising with the State Service & Warranty Manager to minimise building practices that produce after sales maintenance requirements;
  • Ensuring compliance with WH&S policies and processes;
  • Tactfully and courteously dealing with customers, suppliers and tradesman on after sales service issues;
  • Assisting the State Service & Warranty Manager with any special projects that need attention.

About You

You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will:

  • High level client communication, with ability to amicably manage complaints
  • A trade background, Certificate IV in Building Management or similar experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Construction and the building process within the Residential Housing Industry;
  • An understanding of WH&S regulations;
  • Strong computer and report writing skills;
  • Outstanding, organisational and planning abilities with the ability to work under pressure;
  • Flexibility to travel around the state,
