About the Role:
As a Mental Health AOD Clinician, you will hold registration as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with the relevant professional body. Candidates working towards Mental Health accreditation are welcome to apply, with the expectation of achieving registration within 12 months of employment.
You will provide evidence-based psychological therapies and clinical interventions to clients, supporting their recovery and wellbeing. You will work alongside a diverse team, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners, child and family specialists, LGBTQIA+ workers, peer support staff, and AOD professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage clients using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented practices
Conduct comprehensive mental health and/or AOD assessments
Develop and implement collaborative, person-centred care plans
Deliver a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducation groups
Collaborate with allied health, medical professionals, and community supports
Promote family and carer involvement in care planning
Support appropriate referrals and facilitate safe, goal-aligned exits from the service
Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement
Adhere to clinical governance, safety, and compliance frameworks
What We're Looking For:
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy
Current registration with AHPRA or mental health accreditation as a social worker (Candidates working towards this can apply)
Experience in mental health and/or AOD services
Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
Understanding of culturally responsive and inclusive practices
