Saltwater Clinic is a vibrant, community-focused mental health facility that prioritizes holistic care and recovery orientated practice. The Senior Clinician role is to provide consumer recovery focused care based on evidence based practice as well as a commitment to the delivery of services that are responsive to the needs of the community. As a Senior Clinician you are expected to work within a multidisciplinary team and support and participate in the operation of the program. The Senior Clinician's role is to utilise their expert clinical skills by undertaking a clinical caseload, providing supervision and support to other team members. In doing so the role ensures standards are met, evidence based practice is implemented and that the service is responsive to the needs of the community. As a Senior Clinician the worker is expected to work with the Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist and other staff to ensure that the operation of the Community Treatment Program is in line with the vision of Mercy Mental Health.To provide quality, specialist client-centred assessment and treatment in the context of a holistic framework and in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- To facilitate the appropriate clinical management of people with a mental illness within the team
- To work co-operatively and effectively with other internal and external programs/organisations
- To provide supervision to students and at times clinicians within the organisation
- To engage in professional development activities relevant to your discipline
- To contribute to in-service professional development activities
- To contribute to the development and implementation of relevant research and evaluation programs for the service as required
- To hold the Physical Health Portfolio
What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with successful completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or a Post graduate Psychiatric/mental health nursing qualification
- Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- A current valid full Victorian Drivers License
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
