Join one of Australia’s leading food manufacturers in a pivotal leadership role that blends hands-on technical support with strategic oversight. As the Electrical Technical Lead, you’ll be the go-to expert driving electrical excellence across a dynamic production environment - ensuring reliability, improving efficiency, and fostering a collaborative team culture.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you’ll step into a role that has strong visibility and influence, working closely alongside mechanical, planning, and production stakeholders. This is an opportunity to lead a solid and tight-knit team of electricians who are passionate, reliable, and well respected within the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of escalation and expertise for complex troubleshooting, line control, and automation issues.
  • Build strong relationships with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and reduce downtime.
  • Support and mentor electricians while maintaining a strong floor presence.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contribute to planning of maintenance windows, upgrades, and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing preventative maintenance strategies and champion safety-first thinking - particularly in automation and robotic handling processes.
  • Work closely with a Senior Automation Specialist during the day shift to address and upskill in robotics and control systems.

Ideal Candidate

  • Queensland Electrical License (required)
  • Proven experience in manufacturing maintenance, ideally in food or FMCG environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of automation and control systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens).
  • Strong people and communication skills – someone who thrives in a high-paced, team-oriented culture.
  • Ability to navigate and manage reactive maintenance while contributing to long-term improvement strategies.
  • A proactive and solutions-driven mindset with a collaborative approach to leadership.
