Project Overview
Perth Airport is a 24/7 operational airport in Western Australia, serving as the 'Western Gateway' to Australia. The airport is undergoing a major $5 BN (AUD) redevelopment over the next 7 years which will see the consolidation of the airport terminals into “one airport”, a new parallel runway, and construction of supporting airport infrastructure including associated roadworks, the airport’s first hotel and two multi-storey car parks. Working in an integrated client management team as the Capital Portfolio Partner, Bechtel will initially be responsible for 1) leading the development of the systems, tools and processes, required by the integrated client team, to successfully plan and manage the redevelopment works, and 2) developing the portfolio cost & schedule baseline.
Job Summary
To lead the delivery and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and approvals required to develop the Perth Airport Estate in accordance with the Perth Airport Master Plan and Perth Airport Corporate objectives.

Job Summary
To lead the delivery and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and approvals required to develop the Perth Airport Estate in accordance with the Perth Airport Master Plan and Perth Airport Corporate objectives.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead the scoping, consultation, and development of approvals documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Airport Act 1996 , Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 , Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 and other applicable legislation to fulfil the obligations and strategic development goals of the Perth Airport Master Plan.
- Identify the need for, and quantify which approvals are required to enable development activities on the Perth Airport Estate.
- Accountable for timely delivery of approvals documentation, including management plans, to support development projects on the estate.
- Undertake EIA to determine regulatory approvals requirements and mitigation and management strategies required.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards with respect to the company’s land use planning and Environment obligations.
- Lead socio-economic assessments and environmental impact assessments to inform development of MDP and other approvals documentation.
- Requires a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science, Ecology or Biological Science preferred) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with and across multiple disciplines and managing stakeholders.
- Experience in delivering Commonwealth approvals, environmental impact assessments, management plans and compliance reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and proven reporting skills
- Currency in knowledge and application of State and Federal Environmental legislation
- Experience in managing the approvals and post approval process for Infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of, and experience in Local and State Government Planning legislation and processes
- Experience working within an airport environment is preferred
