What will you be doing | Nga whainga

This is an exciting Public Relations opportunity based in our Sydney office. Reporting to the Public Relations Manager you will be required to implement the Public Relations and Communications strategy for Australia and to raise appeal and preference for New Zealand as a holiday destination through storytelling and earned media, in ways consistent with Tourism New Zealand's Four-Year marketing strategy.

You will support with press engagement across print, online and broadcast media.

You will utilise your superb communication skills to engage a wide variety of stakeholders while fostering positive relationships with our agencies, local media, industry and the travel trade. You will pitch and champion content via the global newsroom for Australia, seek out media opportunities and respond to inbound media enquiries.

  • Proactive and dynamic Public Relations Executive with min 4 years' experience working in public relations or communications - ideally within an international or commercial environment.
  • An understanding of the Travel and tourism industry is ideal.
  • Be someone who has your finger on the pulse, able to bring new ideas, champion campaigns, and lead our reporting function for Australia.
  • Experienced leading projects that drive organisational growth, turning vision into tangible results that create impact.
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional writing skills and a passion for storytelling.
  • Experience liaising directly with journalists.
  • Be well networked, with sound knowledge of the Australian media landscape.
  • You will know a good story when you see it.
  • Flexibility is required as the role may require some travel,
