We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our friendly team at Gracehaven Aged Care Service.

What You’ll Do

As our Maintenance Officer, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our site in great shape. You’ll:

  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs — from plumbing and carpentry to painting and fixing that annoying squeaky door.
  • Keep our grounds looking fantastic — mowing, pruning, and maintaining gardens.
  • Coordinate with contractors and occasionally guide other team members and volunteers.
  • Stay on top of scheduled maintenance plans using our asset management system.
  • Help ensure the safety and comfort of our residents and staff, every single day.

What You’ll Bring

You’re someone who:

  • Has a trade qualification (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements, or ability to acquire with one month of employment.
  • 12mths’ experience in a handyman/maintenance role.
  • Has experience in property maintenance, either in aged care, community housing, or a similar environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Can work independently but loves being part of a team.
  • Brings a can-do attitude and genuine care for others.
  • Holds a valid driver’s licence, and relevant checks like a Police Clearance – or the ability to obtain.
