- Leading control systems engineering (distributed and safety-related)
- Managing full-lifecycle control system projects - from concept to commissioning
- Developing and maintaining automation systems using Siemens, Beckhoff, Schneider, and other platforms
- Supporting ongoing operations by diagnosing and solving system issues
- Creating robust documentation, procedures, and safety protocols
- Staying connected with global experts to ensure best practices and innovation
Your expertise:
- Bachelor's or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in control systems design and implementation
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (S7-300, S7-1500, and 1700 platforms essential), with additional experience across Toshiba, Schneider Premium, and Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- Proven experience designing and implementing personal and equipment safety systems using Siemens safety platforms. Hands-on experience with safe motion control systems using Beckhoff and familiarity with ELMO motion controllers
- Practical experience integrating and programming industrial robots, including KUKA, Stäubli, and Epson, for complex automation environments
- Exposure to or experience with EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) is highly desirable
- Knowledge and experience with Profinet, OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT, and other real-time industrial communication protocols essential for system integration and device interoperability
- Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics using tools such as AutoCAD, Zuken E3, or equivalent platforms
- Proficient with Linux environments, with programming experience in Python and/or C++, particularly for automation, scripting, or system-level integration tasks
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for agile task management
- Solid knowledge of Australian and international machinery safety standards (e.g., AS4024). Experience conducting risk assessments and holding relevant safety certifications preferred
- Registration or eligibility as a professional engineer in Victoria
