NEGS, is an independent Anglican co-educational Junior School and a girls only Senior School with boarding from Year 5. NEGS is located in Armidale, a regional city in the New England North West region of New South Wales, Australia.
Established in 1895 by Florence Emily Green, NEGS is a non-selective school, and currently caters for approximately 310 students from Pre-Preparatory (4 years old) to Year 12 (18 years old), including 140 boarders from Years 5 to 12.
NEGS is affiliated with the Association of Independent Schools of New South Wales (AIS NSW), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), the Australian Boarding Schools' Association (ABSA), the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia (AGSA), and is an affiliate member of the Association of Heads of Independent Girls' Schools (AHIGS). NEGS Limited, in its capacity as Trustee, administers the school on behalf of the Anglican Diocese of Armidale.

The Role
Marketing And Communications
- Manage the internal and external communication channels to ensure that all communications are timely, consistent, relevant to the stakeholders, and in keeping with the NEGS brand.
- Execute the marketing plan, which includes a robust and targeted advertising schedule across all platforms, and leveraging opportunities to promote NEGS as a leading regional school. (advertising, key publications, key events, media releases, editorial)
- Execute the annual communications and engagement survey and family exit surveys
- Responsible for building and creating content and implementing the calendar to showcase and celebrate student and alumni success, reinforcing our strategic direction and key messages. This involves both writing and curating content for key publications across all channels and platforms.
- Oversee the production of the fortnightly newsletter and regular EDMs across the community, responsible for ensuring standards and NEGS tone of voice.
- Manage the publication timeline for key publications.
- Liaise with designers, stakeholders and contributors to ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage and monitor the school’s online, social and media presence, and track and report on web analytics and social media.
- Review and maintain marketing collateral to ensure it is up to date, refreshed and always on point to achieve enrolment goals.
- Maintain handbooks, onboarding plans and collateral for families and staff members.
- Maintain the NEGS style guide and ensure all staff are working within these guidelines.
- Together with the Enrolments team, help maintain and update customer journey ‘touch points’, regularly reviewing communication templates to ensure it reflects the NEGS tone and brand.
- Work with 3rd party agencies to ensure brand consistency and communication with cost efficiency and efficacy.
- Work with the Principal and COO to uplift the NEGS Brand, identifying opportunities and key areas for brand awareness and exposure.
- Promote and actively participate in the development of an alumni program through communications, events and outreach, with a focus on building the alumni database.
- Support the reunion program and support donor stewardship, fundraising and receipting of gifts.
- Ensure all events and functions are consistent and in keeping with the NEGS’ brand and enhance the communication strategies around each event, both pre and post-event to build community engagement.
- Attend and assist with the logistics of events as part of the community relations team, this will include some after-hours attendance.
- As required, support the events and activities of our Parent body and other stakeholder groups.
- Support enrolment events, regional tours, meet the Principal functions.
- In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer to build opportunities in identified targeted areas such as ADP/Sport, Agriculture, EC and facilities usage to develop new initiatives and revenue.
- Provide support to various departments such as Enrolments, Boarding, Sports, Junior School, Equestrian and others in relation to branding and creative output.
- Support the NEGS P&F in project management, ensuring brand consistency.
- Assist and support the Old Girls Union in enhancing communication strategies and alumni-related events.
Required
- Hold or ability to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring professional standards are maintained.
- Expertise in copywriting, creating content, editing and proofreading.
- Customer-oriented approach.

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing or equivalent
- Proficiency in various creative, editing and communications programs (ie. Canva, Adobe Suite,any CRM program) is preferable.
- Experience working in a school setting or education sector is preferable.
