Dynamic and highly reputable charity, not-for-profit organisation is seeking a passionate Communications Officer to join their collaborative team.
Reporting into the Influencer Marketing Manager and working as part of the
National Communications team which provides support on national communications and large scale earned media and influencer campaigns.
The role delivers earned media and communications and influencer marketing activity, underpinning their efforts to effectively communicate the organisation’s priorities and build their public profile.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and editing communications materials, including developing copy, key messages, media releases and pitches and written commentary. Ensuring effective and consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Researching, identifying and helping onboard influencers and content creators onto large-scale national campaigns.
- Preparing briefing materials for influencer engagements and supporting the day-to-day coordination of influencer deliverables.
- Working with influencers to workshop content that is authentic and aligns with campaign messaging and tone.
- Assisting with reviewing influencer content for compliance with the brief, risk, impact and engagement.
- Translating complex content or concepts into accessible, relevant communications, tailoring messaging for different audiences.
- Undertaking media relations activity, including pitching stories to relevant journalists, responding to media enquiries, coordinating and briefing spokespeople, and developing written responses and quotes for publication.
- Supporting media outreach activity by identifying case studies, and maintaining media and influencer contact lists.
- Coordinating internal communications activities – including collating news items to ensure internal teams understand the current news agenda and are across relevant stories and articles.
- Ensuring partner agencies deliver regular reporting data on influencer activity and collaborate with campaign teams to ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
- Monitoring for and, measuring proactive, reactive and incidental coverage, reporting on press office and earned media performance. Identifying key insights to boost quality and quantity of coverage.
- Providing general communications support to the broader team.
To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in communications or media relations in either an in-house or agency environment.
- Passion for public relations, media relations and influencer marketing.
- Interest in accurately communicating about health issues.
- Demonstrated experience working with social media creators, influencers or ambassadors.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Highly developed organisational skills.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent new sense and understanding of Australian media
- High computer literacy, including experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation programs.
- Experience delivering media relations or influencer activity for behaviour change or social marketing campaigns.
- Strong writing skills, social media fluency and a passion for purpose-led storytelling
- Experience communicating about health or science and/or exposure working in the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded
