We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services in compliance with federal and state taxation, superannuation, and audit requirements. This role involves managing full function payroll, ensuring compliance, and continuous improvement of the payroll operations. Working in a small team of three, this dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to work in an environment that offers exposure to all facets of Australian payroll whilst offering the opportunity to step into the world of international payroll and provide the perfect environment to learn, grow and make a real impact.
What you'll be doing…
- Process monthly payrolls for Australia and international locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- End to end payroll tasks, including employee changes, terminations, and post-pay payments.
- Support payroll reporting and statutory returns, including payroll tax and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies.
- Process payroll costs into the general ledger and support audits.
- Maintain payroll documentation and system updates, testing upgrades as needed.
- Drive process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide excellent service to employees and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices.

- Understanding of Industrial Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Knowledge of legislative payroll requirements (PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workers' Compensation, Single Touch Payroll).
- Experience with payroll legislation in New Zealand and the United Kingdom is advantageous, though a strong interest in learning and developing expertise in these areas is essential.
- Understanding of payroll's impact on the general ledger.
- Experience with TechnologyOne payroll software is a plus.
