AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Amazon Web Services is seeking a talented, self-directed public sector marketing leader to drive demand, awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud computing platform across Australia & New Zealand (ANZ). This is a highly strategic opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, fast-growing business.

The ideal candidate has a passion for the public sector, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to quickly grasp technology concepts. Candidate must have exceptional communication skills, be comfortable with marketing tools and be well versed in integrated marketing campaign development and execution.

Key job responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute public sector marketing strategies to target technical and business decision makers and developers
  • Assist in developing new fiscal year plans that incorporate core marketing campaigns, assets, and content
  • Lead the ANZ regional expansion and implementation of global & APJ-wide public sector campaigns
  • Craft and develop compelling campaigns and tools focused on customers for use on the web, at live events and in customer facing programs
  • Lead the implementation of technical and non-technical marketing campaigns (Product & Persona-based motions)
  • Deliver clear, concise content for websites and social media
  • Track key metrics and KPIs and insuring all established goals, objectives and deliverables are met
  • Work closely with sales, Partner, technical teams, Public Policy, Public Relations and Analyst Relation team, including APJ-wide counterparts to ensure alignment and execution of broader sales, business and marketing strategies

A day in the life

This role will lead and own integrated marketing programs designed to drive further adoption of AWS among technical influencers and decision makers in the government, education, healthcare, and nonprofit segments in Australia & New Zealand (ANZ). Specifically, the role will drive demand generation activities including event execution, as well as diving into the data and analytics to report on activities and better target our efforts. Successful candidates must be able to recognize the needs of these market segments and be comfortable with marketing and sales force automation technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • 9+ years of relevant work experience in marketing, ideally marketing B2B technology products or services
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology, or relevant field of study
  • Demonstrated success in marketing management, developing marketing strategy, digital marketing, event management, product management, lead management
  • Demonstrated experience in measuring and improving the ROI of marketing investments
  • Experience of operating and collaborating in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrixed global organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to increasing levels of responsibility and proven success delivering measurable marketing results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables
  • Demonstrating exceptional business acumen and ability to understand customers' needs
