Carnival Corporation & plc is excited to announce: We are hiring a Paralegal to join our Legal Team. This full-time (or 4-day part-time) permanent position will be based in Chatswood, Sydney and report directly to the Assistant General Counsel. This is a brand-new role created to support our close-knit legal team - ideal for a career paralegal seeking long-term stability or a legal student who's eager to prove they can step up, take initiative, and grow into the role with the right support. Training will be provided in systems and processes, but we are always looking for the team's input on how to innovate.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating legal claims: tracking deadlines, liaising with counsel, and maintaining organised files
- Supporting litigation: evidence gathering, document organisation, and witness coordination
- Populating and reviewing documents such as Deeds of Settlement and legal correspondence
- Conducting research on consumer law, personal injury, contract law and other issues
- Managing records across OneDrive, SeaEvent, SeaCare, Polar, Fidelio, and other systems
- Admin support including data entry of claims and processing payments/invoices
- Providing general legal team support and contributing to operational efficiency and innovation
- Assisting with other legal tasks and projects as required
About You:
You may be ready to take your next step or a seasoned paralegal looking to cement your career with an industry leader in an in-house legal team; either way, you're an enthusiastic team player, keen on a variety of work, and have excellent attention to detail. With a strong foundation in legal support (or similar), you are confident managing multiple tasks and deadlines, all while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. You're a natural communicator - articulate in both written and verbal forms - and are comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders across all levels. You thrive in structured environments and are driven by efficiency, precision, and continuous improvement. Your commitment to confidentiality, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn new things and support your team wherever needed make you an ideal candidate for this role. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves, staying organised, and contributing to a culture of legal excellence.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:
- 1 year of Paralegal experience (preferred - transferrable skills considered)
- High-level administrative skills, including file management, correspondence, and document control
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
- Skilled in legal research, including legislation, case law, and precedent analysis, with experience drafting summaries and legal documents
- Experienced in drafting legal documents such as contracts, affidavits, briefs, and court forms with accuracy and efficiency
- Meticulous in document review, ensuring compliance and minimising risk of errors
- Highly organised, capable of managing large volumes of case files, timelines, and documentation workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of legal processes and terminology (or eagerness to learn), with practical experience in supporting legal teams across various matters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive and Excel
