Reporting to the Environment & Radiation Superintendent, The Environment & Radiation Advisor is responsible for ensuring all environmental & radiation monitoring and management requirements are completed on schedule. This includes entering monitoring data into the database, performing QA checks and assessing compliance against regulatory and internal limits and levels. The role also involves proactive hazard and incident reporting, risk mitigation, and providing guidance and training to site personnel and contractors to maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible mining operation.

Key Accountabilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain radiation management plans and environmental management systems
- Conduct radiation surveys, environmental monitoring, and risk assessments
- Provide expert advice on radiation safety, waste management, and environmental protection
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and permits
- Train and educate staff on radiation safety and environmental awareness
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Radiation Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in radiation safety and environmental management within the mining industry is essential
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel spreadsheet skills
- Current C Class driver’s license
