Our People and Culture division’s purpose is ‘Together we do great things every day to enrich the employee experience.’ Within the People Strategy and Culture department, the People Partnering and Organisational Design teams drive our strategic people initiatives, focusing on how we structure and organise our workforce to best align to our Group People Strategy.


The Head of People Partnering is a key leadership role reporting to the General Manager of People Strategy and Capability. You’ll lead and mentor a team of Senior People Partners and Organisational Design Specialists who support the Executives and Senior Leadership Group (SLG) to execute on Group Strategy.


You’ll partner closely with the SLG as a trusted advisor and you’ll lead your team as they design and deliver smart people plans, directly enabling the Banks strategic workforce plan and the Group Strategy. Of course, you and your team will also be delivering advice and support around everyday challenges and opportunities to leaders across the Bank.


You’ll be part of an engaged and supportive People and Culture leadership team that are incredibly passionate and work collaboratively to enrich our people’s experience. This is an impactful leadership position where your opinions and challenges will be sought and valued.


This role can be based in Adelaide, Bendigo, Melbourne or Sydney. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.


What you’ll bring to the role


  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Demonstrable success in a similar role, leading a business unit or function, incorporating financial responsibility.
  • A strategic mindset and ambition to develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with Group strategy.
  • Experience leading and inspiring a team of experienced and respected Senior People Partners and Organisation Design Specialists.
  • Well-developed understanding of how working closely with other HR functions including talent, employee relations, people analytics & insights, and remuneration and benefits, adds value.
  • Astute commercial approach, understanding the financial implications of people based decisions.
  • Proven change management experience driving organisational change initiatives.
