Your future duties and responsibilities

The Project Control Officer (PCO) provides support to project and program managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards. The role involves administrative, coordination, and analytical tasks that enable smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Governance Support:
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of project governance frameworks.
  • Track project deliverables and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Scheduling and Planning:
  • Maintain project schedules and coordinate with stakeholders for updates.
  • Track timelines, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Financial Monitoring:
  • Monitor project budgets, prepare financial reports, and manage cost tracking.
  • Support procurement and invoice reconciliation.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Produce regular status reports, dashboards, and project documentation.
  • Ensure documentation compliance with organizational standards.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
  • Track project risks, issues, and change requests.
  • Support mitigation planning and escalation processes.
  • Resource Coordination:
  • Monitor resource allocation and availability.
  • Assist in onboarding project team members and maintaining project rosters.
  • Tool and System Management:
  • Use project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Clarity, or equivalent).
  • Maintain SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms for document control.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, project management, or related field.
  • PMP, Prince2 Foundation, or similar project management certification (desirable).
  • Experience with project control in a PMO or large project environment (preferred: 2–5 years).

Desirable Attributes

  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working in sectors like IT, defence, finance, or public services.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
