Join Us as a Community Connector – Make a Real Impact in the Loddon Region!

Are you passionate about helping families thrive and building stronger communities? We're looking for a dynamic, community-minded individual to step into the vital role of Community Connector as part of the Family Preservation and Reunification Response (FPRR) program in the Loddon region.

Role

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of a mission to empower families and strengthen their connections to community services, cultural networks, and opportunities for a brighter future. Every day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Leading the way in finding and creating access to local services that open doors to employment, education, housing, and social inclusion—including developing resources that make these pathways easier to navigate.
  • Encouraging and supporting families to join community groups, attend local events, and build lasting connections within their neighbourhoods.
  • Collaborating closely with FPRR providers to help families develop practical life skills and build confidence in areas that matter most to them.
  • Driving engagement with local services to support long-term outcomes in employment, education, and housing—transforming lives through meaningful connection and participation.
  • Bridging cultures by helping families from diverse backgrounds engage with relevant cultural and community activities that enhance their sense of belonging.

If you’re someone who thrives on connection, collaboration, and creating real change where it counts, this role is your chance to shine.

This is a full time, fixed term parental leave position (38 hours per week until 06/05/2026) opportunity based in Bendigo within our Family Preservation & Reunification Response Program. The position reports to the FPRR Practice Leader.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant work experience in a relevant field which supports an understanding of community development, key child development issues relating to young parents and their families who have complex needs.
  • Well-developed understanding of the FPRR and/or family services and the needs of the families engaged in the program.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, targets, and key deliverables of the program.
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
